Our Treatment Philosophy
|
SRTP Recognizes:
|
- Substance abuse is a chronic, relapsing condition.
- Individuals who seek treatment present a wide range of factors related to their developing and maintaining substance abuse and other problems; their motivations and degrees of readiness for change varies.
- Individualized treatment can best meet the needs of clients and help them advance through the stages of change toward recovery.
- Effective treatment depends on careful assessment of each clients biological, psychological and social needs.
- Certain historically disadvantaged communities and populations can often benefit from specialized culturally sensitive programming.
- The most effective treatment of substance abuse problems requires treatment of the medical, psychological and social ills of the clients.
|
SRTP's Commitment:
We emphasize individualized treatment based upon an individual assessment which includes
assessment of strengths, deficits and other factors contributing to the maintenance of
substance abuse and stage of readiness for change.
Individualized treatment may include:
- Individual, group, or family counseling.
- Medical care and culturally specific
programming.
- Vocational rehabilitation, education and
vocational placement.
- Aftercare to help people avoid relapse to
substance use.
|
We offer specialized treatment to communities and populations:
- Women with or without children.
- Ethnic, racial or cultural minorities
including sexual preference minorities.
- People living with HIV.
- People who show dual diagnoses.
|
We provide to the greatest extent possible:
- Comprehensive services to target populations of
substance abusers.
|
For opioid addicts, comprehensive treatment includes:
- The availability of methadone maintenance and
Suboxone/Subutex to help patients stabilize and maintain their health.
